Position Overview

The ACLU of NH Development Internship program is designed to provide individuals the opportunity to learn a range of donor development and fundraising skills. The intern would be responsible for supporting various fundraising activities to advance the organization’s mission to protect and advance civil liberties in New Hampshire.

The position is based in Concord and will be required to report in-person for weekly meetings and check-ins. The intern will be expected to attend staff meetings (usually Mondays at 11:00am).  They will spend the first 4-6 weeks in the office or until their training is complete.

The intern will learn valuable professional tools, such as SalesForce, Asana and other digital platforms The Intern would be expected to work 18 hours a week for a period of 36 weeks. The non-negotiable salary is $17.00 per hour. Health benefits are not offered for this position.

Job Description

The Intern will be responsible for a range of functions designed to increase contribution revenues, retain support of existing donors, and enhance donor cultivation efforts. The Intern will be responsible for communicating with ACLU donors to advance Development’s cultivation efforts and managing basic departmental functions.

The Intern’s responsibilities include:

  • Phone, email, write and text donors.
  • Track donor engagement activities.
  • Manage mailing lists for print and electronic materials.
  • Generate reports from the department’s databases.
  • Conduct online research of prospective donors.
  • Schedule meetings.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with office technology, including Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google suite, MS Teams, and Asana.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
