ACLU-NH’s New Hampshire Immigrants’ Rights Project (NHIRP), formed in 2018, is dedicated to providing select immigration legal services and to promoting the rights of detained immigrants in New Hampshire. The NHIRP includes:
Pro Bono Bond Program: Collaborative work with other organizations and immigration lawyers. The program screens detained immigrants for possible avenues of relief and provides legal representation for bond hearings.
Bond Training: NHIRP recruits, trains, and mentors pro bono attorneys for bond representation before the Boston Immigration Court.
Supporting Removal Defense: NHIRP assists other immigration attorneys who represent detained immigrants in removal proceedings in New Hampshire.
Litigation: NHIRP protects the rights of immigrants through impact litigation at the federal, state, and local levels in New Hampshire.
Outreach and Education: NHIRP provides regular Know Your Rights (KYR) training for communities across New Hampshire. If you are interested in hosting or attending a KYR training, please contact SangYeob Kim.
