The Freedom New Hampshire campaign was launched in 2016 with the successful goal of protecting transgender Granite Staters from discrimination through House Bill 1319, which was signed into law in June of 2018. Below is a snapshot of this page at the time:
Transgender people are our family, friends, congregation members, and coworkers. But in New Hampshire, there are still no state laws to explicitly protect transgender Granite Staters from discrimination. In 2017, lawmakers can change that. If you believe everyone should be treated fairly and equally under the law, sign the pledge to support legislation to extend statewide non-discrimination protections to transgender Granite Staters.
TRANSGENDER EQUALITY MATTERS MORE THAN EVER
There are more transgender people living openly in New Hampshire and across America today than ever before. And public support for fair and equal treatment of transgender people is on the rise. But still, transgender people experience disproportionate rates of discrimination and harassment—just because of who they are.
