The American Civil Liberties Union, the ACLU of New Hampshire, and the ACLU of Massachusetts have joined a class-action lawsuit to halt the immediate deportation of a group of Indonesian nationals residing in New Hampshire, most of whom have lived in the United States for more than a decade and now face imminent removal to Indonesia where they are in grave danger of persecution, torture, or death due to their faith. The lawsuit was brought by Nixon Peabody LLP. The complaint was filed in U.S. District Court in Massachusetts.
 
On November 27, 2017, the Court concluded that it had jurisdiction to hear the claims of these Indonesian nationals.  The opinion is here.  On February 1, 2018, the Court issued a preliminary injunction halting the deportation of these individuals.  The opinion is here.
