The Border Patrol checkpoints on I-93 and across New England are unconstitutional – and we're asking the court to stop them from being conducted in New Hampshire immediately.

We filed a federal lawsuit last week with the ACLU affiliates in Maine and Vermont challenging the checkpoints, which are being used as a ruse to unlawfully search and seize people and their property for general crime control and minor drug detection.

Like many Granite Staters, our client, Jesse, was traveling home from a fly-fishing trip in the White Mountains. He said he found the checkpoint to be "terrifying and dehumanizing." He was ultimately detained for about an hour by agents with machine guns.

No person should have to answer to armed and unaccountable federal agents while going about their daily business.

We'll see CBP in court.
